Mrs. Penney Gayle Mendenhall Zanenghi, 69, a resident of Thomasville passed away on November 27, 2016 at High Point Regional UNC Health Care. Penney was born December 27, 1946 in Thomasville, NC a daughter of the late Delk Fremont Mendenhall, Sr. and Sara Ann Maley Mendenhall. She had made this area her home most of her life. Penney was owner/operator of Westchester Art Gallery and when health permitted she attended Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a long time member of Gamma Xi Sorority. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Delk Fremont Mendenhall, Jr. Penney married Armando Zanenghi and the two enjoyed fifty years of marriage. Armando survives of the home. Also surviving is her sons, Zac Zanenghi and his wife Tracy of Thomasville, Zane Zanenghi of High Point; her daughter, Sara Miranda (Sami) Zanenghi and her fiancé Travis Stinson of Thomasville; her sisters, Pam Hellman of Statesville, Mindi Nelson and her husband Scott of Thomasville; her brother, Johnny Mendenhall of Gainesville, FL.; her step-sisters, Julia Riedel and her husband Chris of Bluemont, VA., Betty Kovalcik and her husband Jerry of Fernandina Beach, FL.; grandchildren, Zachery Austin Zanenghi, Kathryn Grace Zanenghi, Matthew Taylor Pettit; step-grandchildren, Luke Stinson, Rylee Stinson, Kenlee Stinson, Cope Stinson and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Peggy Finch and Rev. Chris Riedel officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Project Divine Interruption which supports homeless children of Thomasville, c/o Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O.
